Counterbalance Forklift Training
Counterbalance trucks are the most common type of forklift in use in the UK today and are the workhorse of most materials handling operating.
They come in a vast range of sizes and capacities from small, manoeuvrable electric 3 wheel forklift of 1000kgs capacity to huge 50,000kg capacity diesel machines.
The most common are 1,500kg – 5,000kgs capacity diesel, LPG or electric forklifts.

Reach Truck Training
Reach trucks were first introduced to reduce the aisle widths a forklift needed to operate in and therefore bring down the cost of pallets stored within warehouses.
Reach trucks are common in all sectors of industry and variants exist for more specialist applications (4 way steering etc).

Sideloader Forklift Training
The sideloader forklfit truck is the ideal machine for handling long loads particularly when significant travelling distances are involved. Widely used in the timber and steel industries. This type of truck ensures optimum space utilisation and improved load stability when travelling.

Multi-Directional Forklift Training
The multi-directional forklift truck is a “one-stop” solution for applications that require handling of long or palletised loads on smooth or rough terrain. As
this trucks name suggests (multi-directional) it has the capability of travelling forwards, backwards & side to side with its triple rotating wheels. Widely used within the timber and steel industries.

VNA Forlift Training
Very Narrow Aisle trucks are used within warehouses for either loading/offloading loads from racking systems or order picking at medium to high levels.
VNA forklifts are unique as they’re generally only steered by the operators when transferring from on aisle to another and are usually run on either wire or rail guidance systems within an aisle.

Overhead Crane & Slinging Training
Overhead cranes are used in many different types of industrial applications and, although the principle of operation remains the same (i.e. the load is lifted from directly above), the methods of control do vary.
The main types of overhead controls are;
Pendant Control – the crane is manoeuvred by a pendant control attached to the crane that is held a ground level by the operator.
Remote Control – this is similar to the pendant control system but the remote control is not attached to the crane thus allowing the operator more freedom to work from the optimum location.
Cab Control – the operator is located in a cab that is usually attached to the crane to give them good vision of the operation from above.

Manual Handling Awareness
The risk of injury from a manual handling task will be increased where workers do not have the information or training necessary to enable them to work safely. For example, if they do not know about any unusual characteristics of loads or about the system designed to ensure their safety during manual handling, this may lead to injury.
The course is broken down into 5 stages in theory power point presentation and practical demonstration, followed by an assessment in both theory and practical by each individual.
1. Manual handling risk factors and how injuries can occur
2. How to carry out safe manual handling, including good handling technique
3. Appropriate systems of work for the individual’s task and environment
4. Use of mechanical aids
5. Practical work to allow the trainer to identify and put right anything the trainee is not doing safely.
